Overview

The Noble Research Institute LLC, Ardmore, Oklahoma, is seeking a Livestock Agricultural Consultant II (i.e., with professional experience in beef cattle production and an emphasis in stocker cattle production) to complement a team of consultants representing several agricultural disciplines. This team provides, without charge, technical and systems management assistance and education to farmers, ranchers and other natural resource managers in the southern Great Plains. The consultant is expected to participate in professional leadership roles and assist in applied research and demonstration activities.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Agricultural Consultant II will include working within a multi-disciplinary team environment to assist agricultural producers and other land stewards achieve their financial, production and quality of life goals (information about the consulting program is available on the Ag Division website at www.noble.org).

 

In addition to consulting, duties will include participating in educational programs, outreach activities, demonstrations and a limited amount of applied research.  The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with internal groups as well as universities and various agricultural agencies; and actively participate in appropriate professional organizations.

Qualifications

Master of Animal Science or related field is required.  Emphasis in applied beef cattle/stocker cattle production and management is preferred.

 

A minimum of 5 years directly related professional experience is strongly preferred. A farm or ranch background is also preferred.

 

Experience in applied agricultural research is preferred. Knowledge of regional agricultural practices and a demonstrated ability to communicate are required.

 

Salary commensurate with candidate's education and experience.
