The Noble Research Institution, LLC is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on genomics of Medicago truncatula. The incumbent will be involved in an NSF funded project focusing on isolating flanking sequence tags of M. truncatula Tnt1 mutants using sequence capture and next generation sequencing technologies. Research will be in the Molecular Plant Microbes laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Kiran Mysore.


Postdoctoral Fellow Job Description


This temporary Postdoctoral Fellow position is funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation. Funding is anticipated to be renewed annually based upon performance and funding availability and is scheduled to end on or before August 31, 2020.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the design and implementation of experiments in the laboratory and greenhouse. Other duties of the position will include, but are not limited to, diligent and timely design and implementation of genotyping and phenotyping activities, complete data analysis and interpretation, preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and participation in the Institute’s professional development program.



A Ph.D. in plant biology, plant genetics or related area. Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology techniques is preferred. Experience working with next generation sequencing and plant-microbe interactions will be desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research atmosphere are required.
