The Noble Research Institution, LLC is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on functional genomic approaches to understand plant-fungal interactions focusing mainly on nonhost resistance. Research will be in the Molecular Plant Microbes laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Kiran Mysore.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the design and implementation of experiments in the laboratory and greenhouse identifying and dissecting the plant signal transduction pathways during nonhost disease resistance. In addition, the candidate will be required to develop new pathosystems for fungal pathogens that are prevalent in local agriculture. Other duties of the position will include, but are not limited to, diligent and timely design and implementation of genotyping and phenotyping activities, complete data analysis and interpretation, preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and participation in the Institute’s professional development program.
A Ph.D. in plant pathology, plant biology, plant genetics or related area. Hands-on experience with plant-fungal interactions and basic molecular biology techniques is required. Experience working in field is desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research atmosphere are required.
