The Noble Research Institute LLC in Ardmore, Oklahoma, is seeking a Research Associate I - FTT to assist with all aspects of lab, field and/or greenhouse work to support the scientific research objectives of a USDA funded project to develop genetic tools for pecan breeding under the supervision of Dr. Maria Monteros.
This temporary position is funded through a grant from the US Department of Agriculture. Funding is anticipated to be renewed annually based upon performance and funding availability and is scheduled to end on or before August 31, 2021.

Duties will include but are not limited to DNA extraction and quantification, performing PCR reactions, genotyping using different platforms, tissue culture, media preparation and occasional field sampling or phenotypic data collection during the growing season. Applicants should be able to follow written protocols and complete simple tasks independently, be able to advance activities for various experiments and document all research activities using an electronic laboratory notebook. We seek an engaged individual with the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Bachelor degree in biology, plant breeding or related field is required in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate should be self-motivated to work independently and also be a good team member.
Because of the physical demands of this position, the selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a work steps test.
