The Noble Research Institute LLC is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on genetics, genomics and molecular breeding of tall fescue, an important cool-season perennial forage and turf grass species. Research will be in the Grass Genomics group under the direction of Dr. Malay Saha.

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and implementation of experiments in the laboratory, greenhouse and field. The primary duties and assignments will include genotyping and phenotyping of tall fescue populations, genome-wide discovery of SNPs/InDels, linkage mapping and QTL analysis, identifying molecular markers associated with important traits and initiating marker-assisted breeding. Other duties of the position will include, but are not limited to, diligent and timely design and implementation of research activities, complete data analysis and interpretation, preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and participation in the Institute’s professional development program.
A Ph.D. in Genetics and Breeding or related area in required. Experiences with the improvement of perennial forage grass species especially for stress tolerance will be preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research atmosphere are required.
