The Noble Research Institute is seeking a highly motivated summer Research Technician to assist members of the Plant Molecular Nutrition program with research work in the lab and greenhouse. This position will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Wolf Scheible.
This temporary position is available for approximately 12 weeks during the summer months of May through August and is intended for high school and college students. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Part-time positions are not eligible for benefits.

Duties of this position will included but are no limited to providing technical support by assisting other lab members in preparing laboratory reagents and stock solutions, assisting with plant molecular biology techniques (i.e. genomic DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, Quantitative PCR, molecular cloning using GATEWAY technology), in-vitro plant culture and greenhouse plant care, and seed harvesting on plant species like Arabidopsis thaliana, Medicago truncatula and Brachypodium distachyon.The successful candidate is also expected to keep electronic data and their personal lab area organized.
No minimum education requirement. Must be at least 16 years of age by first day of employment. Experience in research is preferred.
