The Noble Research Institute, LLC is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to research in the area of plant microbe interactions associated with endophytes of cool season grasses and the pathogen responsible for pecan scab. Research will be in the Mycology group under the direction of Dr. Carolyn Young.

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and implementation of experiments in the laboratory, greenhouse and field. The primary duties and assignments will be to perform research related to fungal-host compatibility. Other duties of the position will include, but are not limited to, diligent and timely design and implementation of research activities, complete data analysis and interpretation, preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and participation in the Institute’s professional development program.
A Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related area in required. Experiences with fungal biology, next generation sequencing technologies, genomics, transcriptomics, genetics and molecular biology will be preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative research atmosphere are required.
